Privacy Policy

Happy Turtle Custom Gifts is a small gift-basket studio. This page explains what happens to your information when you use this website. It is short because the site does very little with your data.
The short version
- The only information this site collects is what you type into the inquiry form.
- That form sends me an email. Nothing you type is stored on the website itself.
- There is no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.
- Nothing is ever sold or shared for marketing.
When you send an inquiry
The contact form asks for your email address, optionally your phone number, what kind of gift you’re after, and your message.
When you send it, that information is emailed to me so I can reply. It is not saved into the website’s database, and there is no record of it on the site afterwards — the email in my inbox is the only copy.
I use that information to answer your inquiry and to arrange your order if you go ahead. I don’t add you to a mailing list, and I don’t send marketing email.
How long I keep it: inquiry emails stay in my mailbox so I have a record of what was agreed. If you’d like me to delete our correspondence, email me and I will.
One technical note: to stop automated spam, the site briefly remembers that a message was sent from your email address — as a scrambled value that can’t be read back, kept for fifteen minutes and then deleted automatically. It isn’t used for anything else.
Cookies
This website sets no cookies for ordinary visitors. There are no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, and no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
WordPress sets cookies for me when I sign in to manage the site. Those only ever apply to my own account.
Fonts, and the one thing loaded from elsewhere
The site’s typefaces are served by Google Fonts. To deliver them, your browser makes a request to Google’s servers, and that request includes your IP address. Google states it does not use Google Fonts requests to build advertising profiles, but it is the one point where a third party sees that you visited.
Nothing else on the page is loaded from anywhere else — no analytics, no embedded videos, no social media tracking scripts.
The Instagram icon in the footer is an ordinary link. Nothing is loaded from Instagram unless you click it, and then their privacy policy applies rather than this one.
Hosting
The site is hosted by DreamHost. Like all web hosts, their servers keep routine logs — IP addresses, pages requested, times — which exist for security and troubleshooting. I don’t use those logs for anything, and I don’t combine them with anything else.
Who sees your information
Nobody, apart from me and the services needed to deliver your message:
- My email provider, which carries and stores the inquiry email.
- DreamHost, which hosts the site the form is submitted through.
Your information is never sold, rented, or shared with advertisers.
Your choices
You can ask me to:
- tell you what information I hold about you,
- correct anything that’s wrong,
- delete our correspondence.
Email me and I’ll deal with it. There’s no formal process — it’s a small business and it’s usually just a matter of deleting an email thread.
Depending on where you live, you may have formal rights over your personal information, including under the UK and EU GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act. I’m happy to honour any of them.
Children
This site isn’t aimed at children, and I don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new date at the top.
